For outdoor ceremonies in the heart of Somerset

Hidden away in the heart of the Secret Gardens, the Dovecot is the perfect venue for intimate, outdoor wedding ceremonies. Reached by a small wooden bridge, the Dovecot can be filled with flowers, candles or your own decorations, making it the perfect romantic hideaway.

With views across the millpond to the gardens and viaduct beyond, there really is no better backdrop.

Directors' Suite

For a unique civil ceremony, the Directors' suite on the second floor offers a breathtaking panoramic view over the garden. You and your guests can enjoy the stunning vista through the fully opening windows, bringing the garden inside.

The wooden panelled room looks out over the parterre, mill pond and the Charlton viaduct beyond, a sight unequalled in Somerset. Next door, the Brides Boudoir offers a peaceful space for brides to get ready with friends, without the hassle of moving between venues.

Seats: up to 60 guests for ceremonies.

Prices from: £900

Jardines Ballroom

Named after the philanthropic former owner Ernest Jardine, the ballroom is a classic party room with a parquet floor and picturesque views across the gardens. During it's time as a textile mill, the room would have been used to produce delicate lace and silks. The very materials used for Queen Victoria's wedding dress came from Shepton Mallet!

Recently redecorated, the ballroom is beautifully fresh and airy, with the original arched windows letting light stream in and french windows opening out onto the parterre and gardens beyond.

Seats: up to 150 guests for ceremonies.

Prices from: £900
